Healing and personal growth occur within the context of understanding ourselves, our relationships, and the experiences that have shaped us.
Dr. Kohanteb earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of La Verne.
Throughout her training and professional career, she has focused on the intersections of relationships, culture, identity, self-compassion, and emotional well-being. She has provided clinical services in a variety of settings, including California Lutheran University, California State University, Northridge, and University of California Los Angeles, where she currently serves as a staff psychologist.
Much of her work has centered on supporting young adults as they navigate identity development, life transitions, relationships, and the unique challenges that can arise during emerging adulthood.
In her work with clients, Dr. Kohanteb takes a collaborative, relational, and culturally responsive approach to therapy.
She recognizes that each person's experiences are shaped by multiple intersecting identities and life circumstances, and she strives to create a space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered. She has particular interest in working with first-generation professionals and individuals navigating the complexities of balancing personal, cultural, and familial expectations while pursuing their own goals and values.
Her goal is to help clients deepen their self-understanding, strengthen their relationships, and develop the tools needed to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion.
